Wheelset rotating devices (RSD) are used for the turning of wheelsets at parked rail vehicles. This facilitates specific work details and expedites work routines where a wheelset must be rotated in a continuous manner.

The RSD is a practical system for effecting visual inspections, e.g. correct seating of wheel tyre, measuring of crack developmetn or true running of wheels. The RSD can be used in work pits as well as at elevated tracks.

As a rule, the RSD is used at axle loads up to 250kN and for 1,435 mm track gauge. It will handle wheel diameters from 580 mm to 1,250 mm.

Options include special designs, e.g. for larger wheel diameters or other track gauges.
